Abstract: In response to a request from the Department of Transport and Works to evaluate the mosquito breeding situation at the aboriginal community of Lajamanu, approximately 650 km South of Darwin, prior to the upgrading of the sewerage ponds there, two officers from the Medical Entomology Branch of the N.T. Department of Health visited the community in late July 1985. Whilst in the area, two other aboriginal communities, Kalkarindji and Dagaragu approximately 100 km North of Lajamanu were visited to assess the current mosquito situation.
