Abstract: In June 1998, the program staff from Living With Alcohol, the Tobacco Action Project and Alcohol and Other Drugs Program from across the NT met in Darwin for the 3rd Alcohol and Other Drugs Program Conference. The conference was conceived and planned to bring together staff to: 1. Foster positive program identity and actively encourage information sharing, networking, peer support and shared goals. 2. Consider future program directions and how to achieve as much as we can over the next two years. A conference this size is easily justified by the creativity, collaboration and commitment which is generated and sustained by a shared purpose and enhanced working relationships. The three days of information sharing and planning also highlighted the commitment within each program area to innovation and community and government partnerships when working to reduce alcohol-related and other drug-related harm. This report summarises the information presented by staff and guest speakers and provides a summary of the final evaluation of the 1998 AODP conference.
