Title: Aedes aegypti & vector mosquito survey, Bathurst & Melville Islands 12th to 16th December, 1983
Authors: Northern Territory. Medical Entomology Branch.
Issue Date: 1983
Publisher: NT Dept. of Health
Abstract: During December 1983 a survey for Aedes aegypti and other vector mosquitoes was carried out by two officers of the Medical Entomology Branch on Bathurst and Melville Islands. Aedes aegypti is the recognised vector of dengue fever in Australia. Whilst distribution of this mosquito in Australia is considered to be restricted to Queensland, introduction to the Northern Territory is possible by the transport of containers with Aedes aegypti eggs.
