Title: Mortality in the Northern Territory 1979-1997
Authors: Territory Health Services
Issue Date: 1999
Publisher: Territory Health Services
Abstract: Mortality data can be used to highlight a community's health problem areas as a basis for developing health services. Although mortality data are widely available and are useful indicators of the health status of a population, mortality data have their limitations and it is necessary to go beyond information on mortality to gain a full picture of the health status of a population. The complexity of health status requires mortality information to be divided into different views, commonly by age and sex and Indigenous status. Original document is missing pages 190 and 191.
