Abstract: Aedes (Aedimorphus) nocturnus (Theobald) is a mosquito species widely distributed in many islands of Indonesia, the Philippines, New Guinea, the Central Pacific and Hawaii. Although one report of the distribution of Ae. nocturnus included Australia, its occurrence in this country had not been authenticated. This paper describes the first confirmed report of Ae. nocturnus in Australia.
